July's Music: Puttin' On The Ritz

So I found a great song called July but it has nothing to do with July but I loved the song so bam! I'm finding some good songs from doing this.

July by  Noah Cyrus

Alrighty-dighty. LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!
♪everybody dance now♪
(ya'll better have gotten that reference)

Stars by  Grace Potter
I heard this on The Voice, and sadly the person couldn't hit the word "stars" in the chorus well, so it was a bit sad. Then I kind of remembered liking it and I was like, yeah, I should look this up. And I did and I love it.

Something That I Want by  Grace Potter
Then I somehow made the connection that Grace Potter wrote Something That I Want from Tangled's credits and I was like OH YEAH. I love this song, just don't always remember it exists.

Fool by  Cavetown
So one of my friends and I exchange music regularly (you know who you are), and she was like, "Song. Lemon Boy. By Cavetown. Good." No she doesn't talk like a caveman. Point being. I saw the album art when we looked up the song on Youtube and I was like OH!!! I know a song by them that I like! So I pulled that up after listening to Lemon Boy and YAH. I was like, I like this song I just forgot. So yay.

Somebody That I Used To Know by  Gotye
I love this song, how he blends his voice for the chorus and the power in the chorus is just great!

Puttin' On The Ritz by  Taco
This isn't the original (which was from the 1930s or whatever), but this 80s redo of it is catchy! For the curious, I'll put the original below. Apparently it comes from the slang phrase "to put on the ritz" which means to dress fashionably.

That's all folks!

AMOS (a mess of stories)

     K, I got a story for you.
So I went to work earlier in the morning than usual (I have pretty flexible hours, I just have to get stuff done) and the place hadn't opened yet. It was fine, I could get in, and there was one other guy there. He's probably a little older than me (in his 20s) and I've avoided him 'cause he smokes (not to say he isn't nice or whatever, but if you choose to smoke, which is a poor life choice, who's to say you won't make other poor life choices?). He said good morning while I was clocking in and I said good morning back. Nothing out of the ordinary. We do our jobs, other people arrived, and everything was dandy. Then later I'm walking to the back to get some more supplies and he was leaning on one of the back walls on break or something. As I walk by, he says (in a slightly almost cocky sounding voice):
"Hey I forgot to ask you where you got your Star Wars mask."
You know, 'cause I have a Star Wars mask (Obviously). And I turn over my shoulder and say:
"Oh, my Grandma made it for me," and kind of kept walking, but still looking over my shoulder.
And he kind of laughs and says, "Oh, cool."
It was only in hindsight that my mind figured it out (like a whole week later). The tone of voice, the way he phrased it, everything.

    . . .

That was by far the worst, COVID pick-up line I have ever heard.
    Also the first.
I told my parents and they got a kick out of it, enough in fact for my dad to make a social media post about it. I'm adding that to my list of funny pick-up stories (which is ironic that I have a list since I've never had a boyfriend).
    But yeah.

There was the baby bird trying to learn to fly the other day. He flew in front of my legs and we think he hit the chair on the porch because he sat around like he was stunned or something.

Then my fam did a little traveling and I got some nice pics.

So yeah.
Thanks for tuning in $)

Baby you're a __fill in the blank__

Now most of us hear "baby you're a ____" and think of Katy Perry singing Firework.

But oh honey.
But what you should realize, is baby we are psychos. I am a psycho. We should have all noticed this over the 4th, as we maniacs in America set off 1.09 billion dollars worth of fireworks (yes, I looked it up). This was my first year doing more than watching, holding a sparkler, or throwing Pop-its at the ground. Oh I set off fireworks.
And it was GLORIOUS.

It was beautiful. Best. Night. Of. The. Year.

Now, I understand it's hard to take good pictures of fireworks, and you see nice ones like above, and think, "darn how'd they do that mine are all blurry." The reason you don't see other sad firework pictures is because nobody wants you to know they struggle too. So, take comfort:

I hope you all had a great 4th and got to set off at least throw some Pop-its:)

Have fun storming the castle

. . .

So. . .
What do you wanna talk about?
Happy JULYYYYYYY!!!!!

How's your July so far? Mine is going

I mean, it's only been one day of July so far (not even) but that doesn't matter!
I haven't done that much creative lately. I bit of cake decorating and that's about it. I know there's some things I'm supposed to post some pictures of and haven't, but yeah. So I figured we'd talk!

How are you?
. . .
Oh good.
. . .
Me? I'm great thanks!
. . .
No I'm not being dumb!
. . .
Well if that's how you're gonna be. Have a nice life.
. . .
Thanks.

Yes, I'm bored right now.
