AHHHHHH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!
Lol I'm kidding. Gotcha!!!
No but I thought it would be fun to post all about what I want my wedding to be like and when it actually happens we can be like: "Wow! That turned out terrible. . ." (Again kidding, I'm sorry I'm so sarcastic). I might edit this post as I go through life. For example, I looked at going away dresses for like 15 mins and just grabbed the cutest ones. So if I find a few that I'm like, OH MY GOSH YES. Then I'll add that one in.
So anyway let's talk theme:
-Red, White, and Blue. Yikes, I know. But I originally wanted rainbow colors because that's my fav. but now it's not and I think the red, white, and blue will look classier. Less overwhelming. The picture has a lot of white and mine probably won't, and I'd have more of a noticeable center piece but this was the closest to what I was thinking:
-I'd love to do an 80s music theme but of course my husband might not be into that. But one of my fav. 80s songs is Total Eclipse of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler and one of the lines is "Forever's going to start tonight." And I was like, well that would be nice for the invitation. Here's a mock-up of the invitation (obviously this was done in like 2 minutes okay? I just want you to get the gist):
The other thing that inspired the music theme was some cute things I saw on pinterest which were these:
Me stuff. Here's the dress I like. I'd like to add some red satin to the top since I don't like the low plunge and a red satin sash. But it's an ivory striped organza
bridal ball gown, draped ballerina bodice with curved V-neckline, open
back with cut-out detail, full cascading skirt. Yes, I copied and pasted that but I do know exactly what it's talking about due to watching Say Yes To The Dress quite a bit.
I may also be inclined to do a simple satin gown (or one with a lot of shimmery sparkles but they don't look very comfortable) (again all of these with a higher neck and back just can't find a good example pic.):
And a veil. I like something with stars, perhaps some smaller stars than the ones in the pics. but it'll depend on what I can find (stars will be fitting 'cause of my striped dress and red, white, and blue theme wink wink):
Shoes:
These in red would be kind of what I'm thinking (shoes aren't my thing so we'll see):
My going-away outfit:
I want some cute 50s outfit like the ones that Mary wears in the new Muppet movie. I couldn't find a picture of the pink one that plays in the "We Built This City" Segment, but you can probably picture what I'm talking about. Here's some pictures of ones I like:
For the Bouquet I've got a few things I like. I don't want it to be a perfect ball and I don't like the teardrop shape. I don't want it to be too bright so that it doesn't steal the show, but I'd like red roses some white or blue carnations, and yeah I haven't picked all the flowers. Some baby's breath would be cute and help create less of the ball look. I would like to do them in lightsaber hilts:
The rings I like (the first one is Star Wars inspired if I remember correctly):
Bridesmaids dresses I'm not completely sold on which one yet, I know I'd like them to be Navy. I also want them to be evening gowns not tea length like a lot of the ones below. So just picture the short ones like they were to the floor. But here's some of the ones I've really liked:
Of course the flower girl is next (just combine all three pictures):
Mother of the Bride. Yes my mom picked this one out:
I guess we have to acknowledge the men at some point :) I threw in a lot of the ideas I have since I'm not entirely sure so that's why there's several different pics. for one thing.
The Cake. . . I have no plans for yet. . . my favorite kind is chocolate and peanut butter. . . which isn't very wedding-ish and not allergy friendly. My grandparents had like, a banana and Bavarian cream cake that I got to try when they had a cake made for their 50th anniversary in the same flavor and I liked it, but I don't know if that's what I want. I might do 2 flavors, one for each tier, 'cause I really like chocolate cake and some people I know don't so maybe a chocolate and strawberry (or something) bottom and banana and Bavarian cream top. Idk. I'll keep you posted. I also don't have a design that I like really either. . . so here's just some cute ones from Pinterest:
Venue! Agh this is the worst part. A lot of the places in my area go for the rustic look, which I don't like. So my next choice was this, but I don't like the inside 'cause it won't match my classier style (I'm not trying to be really classy, but not rustic barn k?)
So I started looking around and I found this place I've never heard of that's near me and BOOOM:
Honestly if I just covered the white brick in the back of the main room with lights or fabric or balloons or something this would not clash with my stuff. I really like that outdoors will make for great pictures and indoors will be nice. Only thing is it doesn't fit a ton of people. But I'm not sure there is going to be a ton of people anyway.
And guys.
They have paddle boats.
So I'm definitely sold.
Dinner. Tacos, obviously.
I'm kidding I don't know what I want. Preferably something that can't ruin my dress.
Music Selection. I don't know a lot of for certains on this but a couple ideas I have are:
-I like the idea of doing You Are The Reason by Callum Scott for walking down the aisle, but I have considered Pachelbel's Canon in D since it was the song my mom walked down to.
-I thought it might be fun to play Come Together right when my husband and I turn to walk back down the aisle. Just a funny idea. Something like that though with celebratory music would be nice. (Haha what about Augie's Great Municipal Band hahaha)
-I haven't discussed the Daddy/Daughter dance with me Padré yet, but I love the idea of doing the Psych theme due to our shared love of Psych. I also love the Cinderella song by Steven Curtis Chapman. But my Dad & I love of 80s music, so some songs that we both like would be: Don't Stop Believing, Karma Chameleon, She Blinded Me With Science, Summer of '69, Don't Bring Me Down, Ironic, and etc.
-I don't know about my first dance with my future husband it will all depend on what kind of music he likes and what we decide we want.
-I would like to sing Heaven by Bryan Adams for my husband at the reception. . . assuming I don't burst into tears.
Alright here's a link to the playlist I made, I intend to have it shuffle, but I want the song that is at the very top to be the first one played: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvropLxYb5c&list=PLkoED0-kpuueaUHNkW8TTl4ybLXfudfIt
I'll probably think of something I forgot as soon as I post this. . .
Sure enough I did! This is an edit haha. Please steal my idea! Post a link to your blog in the comments if you do this so I can come see!
Ya'll better come and have the time of your life at my wedding. . . within reason of course, non of this:
This is amazing!! I've been married for a year and a half, but let me tell you...I didn't put as much pre-planning into my wedding as you have already done in this post! XD
ReplyDeleteWe exited the ceremony to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles -- it was amazing! I love the whole records/vintage/nostalgic vibe that you have going on in a lot of these pictures! :) Also, the LEGO minifigure corsages...WOW, I wish I had thought of that!!!
It is a lot of fun to plan/think about big events in the future! (For me, it's fun to think of things I can suggest for my siblings' weddings...mwahahaha!)
Haha thank you, but I am definitely way ahead of myself so we'll see if it turns out anything like what I envision. XD
DeleteThat's a fun song for exiting! Ah thank you, I really love music and I think it would be a fitting theme choice, let's just hope I marry somebody with a taste for music like me :)
Ah yes, suggesting things to siblings, haha. It is super fun, hence why I did this post:) And congratulations on your wedding (even the it was a year and half ago:})
